MINUTES EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
SUPREME ADVISORY COUNCIL OF A.Z.A.
OMAHA, NEBRASKA
November 13, 1938
A meeting of the executive committee of the Supreme Advisory
Council was held at Omaha, Nebr, Sunday, Nov. 13, 1938. It
was called to order at 9:15 a.m. by President Beber, at the
home of Philip M Klutznick. Present, in addition to the
president, were Julius Bisno of Washington, D.C., I.F. Good-
man and Philip Klutznick of Omaha, Simon J. Heller of Denver,
and Stanley Rabinowitz of Des Moines.
Motion passed to refer the matter of the change in District
#5 tournament and convention plan to the next District #5
AZ A convention for its recommendations
Motion to accept the bid of District #1 and the invitation
of the Central Jewish Institute to bring the 1939 annual
camp convention to Camp Cejwin, Port Jervis, New York, for
the week of June 21-28 Passed
Motion to set basic registration fee at same figure as last
year and to allow president and executive secretary power to
set up discount and alumni rates. Passed.
Motion to reaffirm the policy of permitting each district to
take care of its own financial problems without material aid
from the S.A.C Passed
Protest of Jersey City chapter in regard to changing the de
bate question was considered and motion made to adhere to the
announced question in view of the proximity of the debate
season Passed.
Motion to refer matter of making the first degree ritual pub
lic to the next convention, and further, that a general consi
deration be given to the policy of doing away with all secret
rituals. Passed
Received and filed report of Hy Haves dealing with the New York
project. Moved resolution of thanks.
Passed resolution, at request of executive secretary, that
wherever possible national committees and chairmen be appointed
to direct our special projects.
