Albert, Miriam

Miriam Albert worked as a member of the professional staff of B’nai B’rith Women for thirty years. Albert’s journey started in 1940 when she began volunteering for the youth movement of B’nai B’rith. She was selected as the first National President of B’nai B’rith Young Women in 1946. Albert became the Executive Director of B’nai B’rith Women in 1959—a role she held until she died in 1976. Throughout her tenure, she remained a consistent and fierce advocate for the youth movement and worked tirelessly to expand the role of women in American Jewry.

Today, outstanding BBG chapters are rewarded with the Miriam Albert Chapter Excellence Award of the B’nai B’rith Girls, the most prestigious honor a BBG chapter can earn.
