Certificate of Re-Incorporation and Change of Name, 1944
CERTIFICATE OF RE-INCORPORATION
AND CHANGE OF NAME
We, the undersigned, being respectively the President and
Secretary of Aleph Zadik Aleph of B'nai B'rith, incorporated on
the 6th day of November, 1936, under the provisions of, and the
sections under Chapter V of Title V of the Code of Law for the
District of Columbia as per Certificate of Incorporation recorded
in Liber 53 at Folio 327, et seq., one of the incorporation records
of the District of Columbia, do hereby certify that at a regular
and duly called meeting of the Supreme Advisory Council of the
said Aleph Zadik Aleph of B'nai B'rith, at which more than two-thirds
(2/3ds) of the members of said Council were present, more than
two-thirds (2 3ds) of said Council consented that the name of the
corporation be changed from "Aleph Zadik Aleph of B'nai B'rith" to
"B'nai B'rith Youth Commission", and also consented that the corpora-
tion be re-incorporated in accordance with the following provisions,
as will more fully appear from the consents of said members of said
Supreme Advisory Council attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and hereby
made a part hereof.
FIRST; The name of this corporation shall be "B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization".
SECOND: The term for which it is organized shall be perpetual.
THIRD: The particular objects and business of the corporation
are, and are hereby declared to be:
A. The enrollment of all desirable young men and women of
Jewish Faith in an organization having for its program the mental,
moral and physical development of its members; the strengthening
of their Jewish affiliations; the abatement of the pernicious in-
fluences of bigotry and race prejudice; and the stimulation of
interest in humanitarian, educational and philanthropic endeavors.
In furtherance, but not in limitation of the foregoing;
B. For the purpose of accomplishing the program set forth in
subdivision (A) of Article III of these articles of re-incorpora-
tion, this corporation may organize groups, chapters, adopt and
promulgate rituals, levy and collect dues and fees to be used only
for the purpose of defraying expenses of operation of the corpora-
tion, and to prescribe rules and regulations for the conduct of the
corporation and its chapters or units;
C. The corporation shall have power to acquire by purchase,
gifts, grant, devise and/or bequest, property both real and
personal, and it is hereby empowered to accept any gift, grant,
devise and/or bequest in trust for the purpose of effecting any part
or all of its program:
