L.S. Currie to Supreme Advisory Council Letter, November 19, 1938
HOTEL CALIFORNIA
AT THE OAKLAND END OF THE BRIDGE
THIRTY-FIFTH AND SAN PABLO AVENUE
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA
November 19th. 1938
Supreme Advisory Council,
Aleph Zadik Aleph,
1003 K. Street N. W.,
Washington, D. C.
Gentlemen;
As you know the A. Z. A. regional convention was held in
Oakland, California November 10th - 14th. We were for-
tunate in having them use the California Hotel for their
headquarters. The employees of the hotel and myself did
everything possible to help them have the best convention
in the history of the local chapter, and feel quite sure
that is was the best.
My personal thanks and congratulations are extended to
your entire organization for the splendid work in which you
are doing in competitive training and character building.
During my many years in the hotel business, I have never
had the pleasure of serving so fine a delegation of young
people. The youngest of them could not be criticised for
any carelessness in conduct.
Much could be said for such young leaders as Burton Polse,
Lowell Adelson, Stanley Rudee and others. of the local chap-
ter. Also Mr. I. W. Alkus and others of the local advisory
board. They are doing a fine job locally.
Congratulating you again for the splendid work your organ-
ization in doing, and hoping we have the pleasure of being
their host again in the near future, I am,
Brother Alephs the rate
Respectfully,
one A.Z.A. that Frino this from you!
S. Currie, Manager
California Hotel
