BBYO's rich history began in
American Jewish Life
Omaha, Nebraska, with a single
chapter of Aleph Zadik Aleph for
young men. On May 3, 1924, Sam
Beber founded the international
organization.

Nearly 20 years later, the local chapters of
B'nai B'rith Girls were formed into an inter-
national organization, largely under the
leadership of Mrs. Louis L. Perlman of
Chicago.
In 1944, BBG and AZA were federated
as the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization,
today the world's largest Jewish youth
organization.
B'nai B'rith Youth Organization is
part of the B'nai B'rith Youth Service
Appeal.
