B'NAI B'RITH GIRLS
NATIONAL CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS
PREAMBLE
The B'nai B'rith Girls has for its purpose:
the spiritual, mental and physical development of Jewish youth;
the inculcation of a love and understanding of their Jewish cultural
heritage;
the stimulation of responsibility as good citizens in the community in
which they live, as well as in the larger Jewish community;
the encouragement of good will among the youth of all peoples, and
interest in humanitarian, philanthropic and educational endeavors.
ARTICLE I NAME
This body shall be known as the National Organization of the B'nai B'rith
Girls.
ARTICLE II B'NAI B'RITH YOUTH COMMISSION
The National Organization of the B'nai B'rith Girls is hereby declared to
be a part of the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, the official Junior organization
of the B'nai B'rith under the sponsorship of the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission.
Nothing herein shall be construed to conflict with the rules, policies, and regula-
tions of the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission. The provisions of the Constitution
and By-Laws of the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission are hereby made a part hereof and
whenever there is any conflict between this Constitution and By-Laws and those of
the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission as they now read, or may later be amended, such
provisions of this Constitution and By-Laws shall be void and of no effect and the
Constitution and By-Laws of the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission shall be supreme in
every case.
ARTICLE III OBJECT
The National Organization of the B'nai B'rith Girls shall be the co-
ordinating body of all the B'nai B'rith Girls District Associations and the B'nai
B'rith Girls chapters. It shall direct the activities of the B'nai B'rith Girls
in accordance with the philosophy, constitution and by-laws of the B'nai B'rith
Youth: Commission. It shall be the highest governing body of the B'nai B'rith
Girls, and shall be under the supervision of the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission.
ARTICLE IV HEADQUARTERS
The headquarters of the National Organization of the B'nai B'rith Girls
shall be located in the headquarters of the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission.
ARTICLE V CHAPTERS
Section 1. Eligibility for Charter
a. To be eligible for a charter, a group must be officially sponsored by
a local group of B'nai Birith Women or a B'nai B'rith-Men's Lodge. Should there
be no B'nai B'rith Auxiliary or Lodge in the locality, the group shall be sponsored
by a committee of adults or a responsible Jewish organization or institution,
subject to the approval of the District B'nai B'rith Youth Committee.
