Bruno Aron to Dr. Abram L. Sachar Letter, May 24, 1946
May 24, 1946
Dr. Abram L. Sachar
Bnai Brith Youth Organization
1746 M Street NW
Washington 6, D.C.
Dear Dr. Sachar,
Our discussions, and your letter of the 21st have
given me much to consider. I appreciate the frankness
with which you spoke and regret only that you had not
done so earlier since it was obvious that for some time
you have had these sentiments.
As I stated to you, you have a right to choose your
own staff. Although I have enjoyed the work, and would
like to continue, giving you full assurance that the pro-
gram as you outlined it in Atlantic City and the personal
direction and changes that you promise would assure my
continued and loyal service towards our common objectives.
However, I accept your judgment and decision and will
look about. There are already several openings which I
shall explore in the Center and Federation fields. I am
sure that I shall have a protracted delay.
Before writing an official resignation I would like to
have from you some statement on terminal pay, vacation,
and assurance of 30 days notice in addition to vacation.
I would also like to be assured that any evaluation of me
to possible employers will be positive and will contain
such statements as you have made to me personally relat-
ive to my work. I am sure that you believe in these things
and will do the necessary things to keep our parting on
as agreeable a basis as possible.
I did want to ask about the forthcoming District AZA
convention. It is scheduled fox the Labor Day week-end,
and you may have someone else by that time. Would you
want that that person should handle it. Perhaps I can
be here to break the new man in?
