I thought I'd drop you a line on the latest developments here. Dr. Sachar attended the Grand Lodge convention in Atlantic City. He was on the spot from the moment he came. His oratory was not enough to placate the peo- ple so he adopted a new course - he agreed with much of the criticism and promised changes. He promised that Rabinowitz would be removed, he said he would move to Washington to be close to the situation, he will give us a full time city director and restore the Dist- rict operation. We will continue with athletic and social activities, with the literature and books we had. He begged that the do not pass a resolution of censure that was up before the group, and finally succeeded in getting through an innoccuous motion he framed. He had two meetings with me privately. He accused me of being disloyal, of inciting disagreement and not help- ing combat it. At first he offered to let me continue if I would fall in line. He withdrew the offer the next day and asked me to resign, promising help in getting another job. I have heard that the same treatment will shortly be given to one or two others that remain. He quoted from your letter regarding the Norfolk res- olution to uphold his position before o ur BBYO committee. He worked hard and used every device. Bisgyer and Sam Weiss were both there and said they would take the matter up with Monsky. I feel we have forced a definite reconsideration of program and technique and Sachar will find it very dif- ficult to put anything over on our committee. Meanwhile, do you know of a decent job?
