Dr. Boris D. Bogen to Sam Beber Letter, January 10, 1927
January 10, 1927,
Mr. Sem Beber,
301 Peters Trust Bldg.,
Omaha, Nebraska.
Dear Brother Beber:-
This acknowledges the receipt of your letter of
January 3rd. In e. day or two I will send you some material
on Spinoza which I hope will be satisfactory. However, if
you get a copy of Zangwill's "Dreamers of the Ghetto" and
read the story of "The Maker of Lenses", that is all that
you really want, but we will get some advance copies of
the February number of our Hagazine, which will contain
a contribution on Spinoza, and send them to you too.
New in regard to the A.Z.A. and the Manual.
I want to call your attention to page 329, where we have
a special paragraph on the Junior Auxiliaries. You must
realize that while this is 8. B'nai B'rith Manual we had to
comprise the entire history of the Order within a few
pages, but I am fully satisfied that the A.Z.A. received due
attention. In the next edition I hope we will be able to say
a great deal more, but as you know, so far the Constitution
Grand Lodge has given very little money to the A.Z.A. and for
that reason, besides others, how could we feature it more than
say the National Jewish Hospite 1 for Consumptives, or any other
institution that has a history counted by decades. But I am
glad that you are protesting because it is only through protest
that we make progress, and I an for progress now and forever.
I would be very glad to supply the Manuals to all
the members of the A.Z.A.. Unfortunately we de not have the
machinery. What do you think of sending then to the Chapters?
If you tell m the names and address of the Secretaries and the
number of copies you want to send, we shall be glad to allocate
a thousand copies as you request.
With best regards, I am
Sincerely and fraternally yours,
BDB/R
Secretary.
