BBGs from New Jersey hand out water at the UJA Walk-a-Thon.

Walk-a-Thons

For community service, many AZA and BBG chapters partner with local Jewish organizations, finding multi-organizational solutions to community problems. For instance, BBG members from Englishtown and Ramot, New Jersey, volunteered to hand out water during the United Jewish Appeal Walk-a-Thon in 1977. The event—then in its third year—is held in communities throughout the United States and Canada to raise money to improve the quality of life for people facing challenges, including at-risk immigrants, victims of terrorism, and Israelis struggling with poverty.
