H" KLUTZNICK HEADS BB Wins By Acclaim; BBYO, Newman In Triennial Spotlight The crowning glory of al- most three decades of AZA history 'came at 4:00 p.m., May 5, when Philip M. Klutz- nick, second Grand Aleph Godol, was elected unanimous- ly and by acclamation as president of the Supreme Lodge of B'nai B'rith. A prolonged and rousing demon- stration followed the nomination of the 45-year-old AZA alumnus by Sam Beber, AZA founder, who has nominated Klutznick for every B'nai B'rith office he has ever held. One of the seconding speeches was made by David Goldman, Pasa- dena, Calif., an AZA alumnus who is past president of District No. 4 of the B'nai B'rith Men. Another seconding speech was delivered by John Horwitz, Oklahoma City, a vice-president of the Supreme Lodge, who was recently elected as a member-at-large of the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission. Happy Moment It was a happy moment for the many old friends of the new presi- dent, who had followed his career from the time he became a charter member of Kansas City Chapter 2 of AZA in 1924, to Grand Aleph Godol, to executive. secretary of AZA, to the presidency of the Omaha Lodge of B'nai B'rith, to the presidency of District No. 6 to the executive committee of the highest Supreme office Lodge, of the and world's then to oldest the and largest Jewish service organi zation.
