Dear Brother Alephs
On December 9 we sent you a letter requesting you to begin
planning your "Youth and Democracy rallies. Since that
time, you have received the January-February Monthly Program
devoted to the Rallies.
I want to take this opportunity to re-emphasize certain
points in these two items.
First, in requesting a speaker from the Anti-Defamation
League, don't ask for Eddie Cantor, J. Edgar Hoover, or
Dorothy Thompson. The first two are far too busy; the
third charges a fee of $2000 for a lecture. And this
principle applies to all "big names" not in your immediate
territory or who charge fees. Make a reasonable request
to the A.D.L. The League is willing to cooperate with
you in all such requests.
Second, send in your requests before January 15th. It takes
time to secure the consent of a speaker. Let us cooperate
with the A.D.L. to that extent. Fill out your request
sheet completely, following the rules of 50% or more of
non-Jewish attendance, the meeting to be co-sponsored by
your chapter and a non-Jewish group. Send the request to
Stanley Jacobs, Suite 1620 , 130 N. Wells St., Chicago, Ill.
Wishing you every success in your rally, I am
Fraternally yours,
bring Jeintar
